The Maserati 3500 GT was introduced at the 1957 Geneva Motor show with a total of 2226 cars produced until 1964. The Superleggera body construction of the Maserati 3500 GT incorporates aluminium body panels, wrapped over a tubular space frame leading to a lighter body with a more innovative shape than was otherwise possible. The engine used in this model was the same engine that was used in the Maserati 350S race car. This 3500 GT was purchased by the current owner in 2013 and received a no expense spared complete restauration with over CHF 180.000 spent. Comes with an extensive amount of documentation and invoices documenting the restoration as well as the maintenance records. Only 4146 km on the odometer. Last Swiss vehicle registration (MFK) was done in 2019. Technical condition: The 3500 GT is in a very good driving condition with no signs of previous accidents. The original 235HP engine has been replaced by another that had a complete restoration around 2018 with further revisions in 2019 and 2020, the gearbox has also been completely overhauled. The undercarriage and the exhaust are in a good condition, no traces of rust or visible oil leaks. Only the spare wheel comes with the car, no tools or other accessories are available. Visual condition: The original paint was stripped down to the bare aluminium body before it received a fresh coat of metallic silver paint that still remains in a wonderful condition. The more than 60 years old original red leather interior and carpets have been well preserved but show wear and patina adding to the vehicle's overall vintage allure. The engine bay and the trunk are both in a very good condition. This low mileage 1961 Maserati 3500 GT is a rare gem with incredible, well documented restoration done and fantastic original interior, ideal for anyone that loves a sporty classic car.
