Beschreibung
Originally introduced at the 1973 Paris Salon under the name Dino 308 GT4, the name "Dino" was retained until the end of 1976 when it was changed to Ferrari due to popular demand. During the construction period of the model, there was only one major European market model visual change, and this was in the shape of the radiator grille, and location of driving lamps. These are generally unofficially referred to as Series 1, and Series 2 models, with Series 1 cars having a narrower deeper rectangular grille, with the driving lights outboard of it, whilst Series 2 cars had a full width grille with the driving lights behind it at the extremities. This was the first Ferrari to be fitted with a 8 cylinder engine as a standard. The robust, high-revving engine was used in various other Ferrari’s for many years afterwards. This original Swiss delivered Ferrari 308 GT4 was sold new in 1978, a few years later the car moved to a garage-owner and Ferrari-enthusiast in Central Switzerland where it was lovingly cared for and regularly driven by its owner until the summer of 2024 with only 75,526 kilometers covered in total. The vehicle comes with a complete set of maintenance booklets and invoices, providing a well-documented history. Technical Condition: This Ferrari is equipped with its original 255 HP V8 engine, which features four twin Weber carburetors, allowing the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in just over 6 seconds. The engine is in good condition, running smoothly and sounding excellent, with matching numbers that confirm its originality. The transmission shifts smoothly, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable drive. The car has no signs of accidents or rust, and the undercarriage is in good condition. The original exhaust is intact and well-preserved, enhancing the car's authenticity and performance. The car includes a spare wheel but does not come with the original toolkit or jack. Visual Condition: The exterior paint, although an older repaint, is in nice condition and retains the car's original color. The body is rust-free with no evidence of accidents, welding, or repairs, showcasing the vehicle's excellent preservation. The interior is original, with a beautiful patina that reflects its age and care. The original carpet is also in good condition, maintaining the vintage appeal of the car's interior. The original windows are intact, adding to the overall authenticity of the vehicle. The only modification to the vehicle is the replacement of the original wheels with typical 1980s Gotti wheels, which enhance its sporty look. This 1978 Ferrari 308 GT4 Series 2 is a highly desirable classic with only 1,446 Series 2 models ever produced. This is a very sporty car that unlike other Ferrari models offers more space for the passenger seats making it a very comfortable drive as well.
