The Bertone X 1/9 is a two-seater mid-engine sports car designed by Bertone and manufactured by Fiat from 1972-1982, and subsequently by Bertone from 1982-1989. With a 78 HP transverse engine and manual gearbox in a mid-mounted, rear-wheel drive configuration, the X1/9 was noted for its excellent handling, lightweight-removable hardtop and front and rear-storage compartments. Unusually the X 1/9 retained its factory design code as its marketing name. This vehicle was registered with a vintage car status in 2014, Switzerland. Technical Condition: This low mileage, single owner 1984 model was delivered new from factory to Switzerland and now has a total of 125,127 km on it, with the relevant maintenance records and invoices readily available as proof. The accident-free car has been very well maintained and its overall condition reflects it. Original windows are still mounted. The undercarriage is in excellent condition. The well-kept original engine runs as strong as it did thirty years ago, and the gearbox shifts smoothly into every gear. Heating/air conditioning/windows and all other electrical features are fully functional. Original documentation on hand. Visual condition: The exterior of the Bertone is in a very good condition. It predominantly maintains its original factory paint coat, but the trunk lid and other minor parts have been repainted. The original black leather interior is very well preserved, shows a nice patina and the car also has the original Bertone carpets in a very nice condition. It shows minor signs of rust in the engine bay and door arches with more prominent signs of rust within the front trunk, mostly along one of the corners. This road ready blast from past wins points on its low mileage, being from only a single owner and having all the regular maintenance done with the full documentation available.
